Skiing in the Ötztal
Fun on the slopes, lovely huts and alpine charm – a winter vacation in the Ötztal is one of a kind. In the valley loved for its top-notch skiing areas you will also find your favorite slope. The close skiing area of Sölden has 144 km of slopes, two glaciers, three summits exceeding 3,000 m, more than 30 state-of-the-art ropeways, and as many huts and mountain restaurants. Free of charge ski buses take you to Sölden in less than 20 minutes, and the bus stop is only a few meters from Apart Peak Ötztal. A few kilometers further into the valley the skiing area Gurgl awaits you with 112 km of slopes. They are all located between 1,900 m and 3,000 m above sea level, which is why snow on the slopes can be guaranteed from November to April. With the Ötztal Super Skipass you can use both skiing areas, as well as the family skiing areas in Gries above Längenfeld with its great nursery slopes, in Niederthai, Vent and Hochoetz-Kühtai.
Cross-country skiing in Längenfeld
En route in the middle of nature. The flat terrain of Längenfeld is perfectly suited for classic cross-country skiing as well as skating. Enter the extensive network of 50 km of slopes close to Apart Peak Ötztal, including the night slope, which is well-lit daily until 9 pm. You can also take the cross-country skiing bus to Gries, where well-prepared slopes at high altitudes are awaiting you. In a picturesque winter setting you pass gentle hills and go along the Fischbach river, uphill and downhill. If you are even looking for more, the cross-country village of Niederthai is 15 km from Apart Peak Ötztal and awaits you with even more slopes and loads of sunshine - thanks to its altitude of 1,500 m even until spring.
Winter activities in the Ötztal
In the case of bad weather, or if you simply are not up for sports or you just want to take it slow, the Ötztal has loads to offer off the slopes. The new tobogganing run in Sölden has a length of 7.3 km, starts at the Gaislachkogel middle station and can comfortably be accessed by cableway. You can also combine a tobogganing ride with an idyllic winter hike. In Längenfeld you find numerous marked hiking trails, tobogganing runs and huts with a toboggan rental. Close to your accommodation are the Wurzbergalm located above Winklen, as well as the Sulztalalm or Nisslealm in Gries. In Längenfeld, you moreover find a well-prepared ice skating rink with a curling area. And, of course, the highlight of your (winter)vacation in the Ötztal: a well-deserved time-out at the AQUA DOME thermal spa in Längenfeld.
